About

🌟 Hoppin' in the Hams! 🌟

Registration Form | 28th - 30th May 2027 Join me, Jenny Thomas, and the wonderful Benjie Talbott for a fantastic weekend of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz in my beautiful home village of Stoke Fleming, nestled in the stunning South Hams on the Devon coast. One of the things that makes this bespoke weekend so special is the incredible support from the village itself. The local community has really embraced the event, and it's a joy to share this beautiful place with dancers from around the UK. Whether you're looking to develop your Lindy Hop, explore Solo Jazz, or enjoy both, this friendly weekend offers great teaching, beautiful surroundings, and plenty of opportunities to relax, socialise and dance. 📍 Venue Stoke Fleming Village Hall Dartmouth Road, Stoke Fleming, TQ6 0QT Our spacious village hall is just three miles from Dartmouth and only a short walk from Blackpool Sands, one of Devon's most beautiful Blue Flag beaches. The hall is also located on the South West Coast Path, making it easy to enjoy a coastal walk between classes or simply soak up the scenery during the weekend. Free parking is available at the hall (please note that overnight parking isn't permitted). 🗓️ Dates Friday 28th - Sunday 30th May 2027 Workshop timetable to be announced. Once I've reviewed registrations, I'll contact you to confirm whether you've been offered a place and provide deposit payment details. Please don't send any payment until you've received confirmation from me. If you're attending with a dance partner, please make sure you both complete your own registration form. 🎉 Places Are Limited Numbers are intentionally kept small to create a friendly atmosphere, so places are expected to fill quickly. ❤️ So why come to Hoppin' in the Hams? This isn't a huge festival; it's a friendly, relaxed weekend with a genuine community feel. I created this event because I love sharing both Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz, as well as the place I'm lucky enough to call home. Over the years, it's grown into a weekend where dancers can learn, improve and be inspired, while also discovering one of Devon's most beautiful villages. The teaching is a huge part of the weekend. My aim is always to create classes that are clear, encouraging and packed with ideas you can take straight onto the social dance floor, whether you've been dancing for one year or twenty. It's about helping everyone leave feeling more confident, more musical and even more excited to dance. What really makes the weekend special, though, is the atmosphere. The whole village gets behind the event, the locals are wonderfully welcoming, and before long it feels less like attending a festival and more like being part of a community for the weekend. Expect fantastic classes, lots of dancing, plenty of laughs, seaside walks, a few Shanky's Whips (if you stayed until late on Sunday last year, you'll know!), and the chance to slow down, connect with great people and enjoy everything this little corner of Devon has to offer. So don't miss out, put this date in your calendar now. Registration will open 22:00 September 8th, 2026! forms.gle
