We are excited to invite you to join us at the new ECU City Campus to hear Swing Shift Big Band perform 6 original works written by Jessie Smoor for her graduation recital celebrating the end of her studies in Jazz Composition at WAAPA.
The program:
"Next Time We'll Go Dancing" – Jazz Waltz with sound art - Vocal
"The Great George" - 7/8 Balkan inspired - Instrumental
"A Difference of Opinions" - Blues - Vocal
"ECU Mambo" - Latin - instrumental
"Limerence" - ECM style 7/4 - instrumental
"The Hokey Okidokey" - Medium-up swing - Vocal
The Line-up:
Vocals: Owen Measday & Jo Bacon
Saxes: Rhi Johnstone, Kiara Wild, Emily Clarke, Bianca Vince & Liz Cassidy.
Trumpets: Marty Pervan, Nick Langford, Lila Clement & Belles Turner
Trombones: Andrew Raymond, Angus Lawrie, Tom Rose & Shirl Halliday.
Rhythm Section: Jesse MIlianku, Mack Spiers, Jessie Smoor, Alfie Cronin and Caity Dale.
Doors open 10 minutes prior. Tickets are free but are required for entry.
