What makes us special is that we’re more than just a dance club—we care. We want to build a community of dancers who socialise, support one another and look out for each other. Holly and Kane Jenner run the club with an amazing team of volunteers, many of whom have become lifelong friends. Kane is a fantastic, qualified LeRoc teacher with 12 years’ experience running Jive Frenzy. He brings a great sense of humour to the class and, with his specialist experience as a DJ, will have you dancing your way out of the door with a smile on your face! What happens when you arrive? You’ll be greeted with a smile at the door and checked into the venue. The first class is suitable for absolute beginners and dancers of all levels. Our regular intermediate dancers will ask you to dance and are very encouraging towards new dancers. They remember what it felt like to walk through the door for the first time, and we want everyone to feel welcome and confident as they learn this wonderful dance. The first class lasts around 20–30 minutes. Kane teaches a move, including the technique, and then you follow along before rotating to the next person and trying it again. There’s a short break to get a drink, continue dancing or practise what you’ve learned. If you’re new, or have less than 3–6 months’ experience, we recommend staying for the repeat class. This gives you the opportunity to go over the moves again with more one-to-one tuition. During the repeat class, our intermediate dancers will be taught some more advanced moves. By around 9:15–9:30pm, classes will have finished and freestyle dancing continues until 11pm. Freestyle is a chance to socialise, take a break in the kitchen, practise your moves and enjoy the music and relaxed atmosphere. Dancing is wonderful for both body and mind—a great way to keep fit and forget the stresses of everyday life. You don’t need to take our word for it; come and experience it for yourself!
