WCS Intensive: Advanced Variations & Dynamics

Advanced Variations & Dynamics is a 4-week intermediate West Coast Swing intensive designed to expand your movement vocabulary and give you more tools to create dynamic, adaptable dances. Over the four weeks, we’ll explore slingshots, hammerlocks, single-foot spins, and hip catches, with an emphasis on the mechanics, connection, timing, and transitions that make these variations work. You’ll learn how to incorporate these movements into your existing WCS repertoire while developing greater control, balance, communication, and body awareness. Rather than simply memorizing patterns, this intensive will focus on understanding how and why these movements work—giving you the ability to adapt them, connect them in different ways, and use them creatively within your dancing. Whether you’re looking to expand your vocabulary, improve your technique, or add more dynamic options to your social and competitive dancing, this series will challenge you to move beyond the familiar and develop greater confidence with advanced variations.
