About
Time and venue to be announced soon but SAVE THE DATE - cause JCB has somehow made it through 10 blocks!
To celebrate so many classes with you all, we wanted to get people together and have some fun - with a one off social! (not to mention put to use all the skills our class members have developed! =D)
More info to come soon, but for now: old class members and new folk, from in Dundee and afar, come along to hang out, share great chat, and enjoy some lovely dancing to amazing music. <3
Really looking forward to dancing with you all - make sure not to miss it, since it’ll be a fair while before we hit 20 blocks!

Just in case you have never come along before:
Blues music and dance encompasses a wide variety of styles, so if you would like to see some examples check out our social media @jutecityblues on Insta and Facebook.
🩵 You are welcome along at whatever level of blues or dance you are, from never hear of it to obsessed, and you do not need a partner to come along.
COST
🩵 Tickets are £5 if pre-booked and £7 on the day.
🩵 If cost would be a prohibitive barrier to you, please reach out to us and we can work something out.
Things to note:
🩵 For footwear, please bring soft soled shoes of some kind, or socks you are willing to move around in to help us care for our lovely venue.
🩵 Blues is a social dance; so please do ask others to dance! However consent is important so ensure you get clear "yes" before initiating a dance with anyone and graciously accept “no”s (everyone should always feel comfortable to say no!).
🩵 While Blues can seem quite chill, please do bring along a water bottle of some kind. 🙂
🩵 Blues is danced often in “close embrace” (chest to chest contact) and while not obligatory we will be encouraging its use, so please double check hygiene before coming along for everyone’s comfort.
Blues dancing is a group of related dance styles that developed in African American communities in the US alongside Blues music and emphasises improvisation, rhythm, and connection to the music and your partner. It is a social dance which can be danced solo, with a partner, or as a group - so there’s something for everyone.
